Job Description

  • We are looking for a Business Practice Leader (BPL) for our Texas Transportation Business Practice, with a focus on municipal transportation services.
  • The Practice provides planning and design of transportation projects statewide for county and local governments.
  • The position can be based out of either our Austin, Houston, San Antonio, or Round Rock offices.
  • The ideal candidate will have a strong practice building and operations management background.
  • They will be capable of leading and conducting business development activities, pursuing new clients/projects, and serving as a senior project manager on project deliveries.

Responsibilities

    • Setting the overall direction of the Practice through the development, maintenance, and implementation of a Business Practice and Operations Plan.
    • Day-to-day management of the Practice.
    • Project pursuit leadership and management.
    • Monitoring the quality and financial success of projects performed by the Practice.
    • Directly and through subordinates ensuring that sales, revenue, and profitability goals for the Practice are achieved and delivery schedules are met.
    • Requirements:

      • Bachelor’s Degree.
      • A minimum of 15 years with an engineering company with an emphasis on transportation planning and design, with progressively responsible experience.
      • Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Texas.
      • Proven business development experience and success.
      • Proven track record of successful project management of transportation projects.
      • A self-starter with previous leadership/mentoring experience and a desire to work in a team environment.
      • Preferred Qualifications:

        • Comprehensive experience in the preparation, budgeting, negotiation, and administration of teaming agreements and contracts.
        • Strong technical capabilities in design and planning.
        • Strong public speaking skills.
